Guide to re-pressurising your boiler
Here is a handy guide to repressuring your boiler. Please seek advise from a specialist if you are unsure
If the pressure on the Boiler gauge drops below the red line/green segment then you need to add water to the system.
- To do this you need the filling loop. The filling loop is a silver braided flexible hose with threaded nuts at each end usually located adjacent to your boiler.
- Under the boiler behind the boxing you’ll see there are two small valves which have been blocked off with screw caps. Make sure the valves are in the off position which means the small lever is at right angles to the valve.
3. Remove both the end caps from the valves. Be aware if the valves are not turned off water will come out. Now connect the braided filling loop to the valves and tighten the nuts. It does not matter which end goes on which.
4. Open one of the valves fully, it does not matter which and then the other.
5. As you open the second valve you should be able to hear water entering the system, do this slowly always keeping an eye on the pressure gauge this will raise the pressure so when you have reached the required pressure(between 1 and 2 on the gauge) turn off both valves.
6. Ensure both taps are closed now you can remove the filling loop and fit back the caps on the valves. The system should now work as intended.
