Build Warranty
New build properties often come with a structural warranty to provide peace of mind regarding the long-term integrity of the building.
What is a Building Warranty?
A building warranty is a comprehensive insurance policy that is provided by a developer to the owner/buyer. It offers peace of mind that the building has been constructed to a standard set by the warranty provider.
This warranty typically covers structural defects for a specified period, often ten years, offering protection against major issues that may arise due to faults in design, workmanship, or materials. Please check your lease for more information and the duration of your warranty.
How long is the Building Warranty on my Home?
All of our newly built properties have a 10-year building warranty.
For the first two years (from the date of build completion) the contractor will cover any defect to your home caused by faulty workmanship or materials in line with your warranty policy.
Between 3 – 10 years, the warranty provider (usually NHBC, LABC or Premier) will insure you against the full cost (subject to a minimum claim value) of putting right any physical damage to your home caused by a structural defect in any one of the specified parts of the building. Please check your Home User Guide to find out which warranty provider covers your home.
How do I make a claim?
If you are within the first two years of ownership, please contact the New Build Defect Team.
To find out more about your home's Warranty and make a claim after two years of ownership, please contact your relevant warranty provider at NHBC, Premier or LABC.
