Extending your tenancy

Frequently Asked Questions

Although a tenancy agreement will have an end date, the agreement between you and us will only come to an end once you have vacated the property.

Your initial tenancy will be for either six or twelve months, if you want to stay in your home you do not need to do anything.  Assuming we have not served you notice requiring your property back, usually at least two months, your tenancy will become ‘Periodic’, meaning it will continue on the same terms (your tenancy includes a rent review so may increase as time passes) as before.  This is often referred to a ‘rolling’ tenancy, and will continue monthly, once the fixed term has ended.

With rolling contracts, the tenancy can be ended by either party at any time. Tenants must give 1 months notice, and landlords must give 2 months notice.
